Jane, The Chemoembolization did a very good job of shrinking his tumors and stabilizing more from starting. Both procedures went very well according to  his doctor's. Now we are back to going every three months for cat scans to see how to cancer is doing. He is actually going to go back to work tomorrow because he can't stand being home anymore. His company told him they would take him back pretty much on any terms he wanted because he is liked so much. He is a truck driver for McKesson Corp. and makes deliveries to nursing homes and doctor's office's and  he got driver of the year last year so they are really pleased he wants to come back.  So we are hoping that the Chemo treatments will keep the tumors in check for some time. Thanks for asking. :)

Hi Ellen. Yesterday my dad had Transarterial Chemoembolization ... they found another tumor also. The first one is over 6 cm in the lower part of the liver, very close to the portal vein. I don't know yet how big the second one is, but it is at the top and they did that treamtment to both. My children went back to school today ... the first time having all of them in school all day. I better find a project fast!

Hi Ellen! I believe my ex-mother in law had this procedure directly to her liver also. Unfortunately she has already passed away so I can't ask her, but it did give her about 5 years! I know it's tough, but hang in there!

Hi Ellen! I'm online! I'm glad to meet you and glad you are here! I know what you mean about second marriages, I'm in the same boat, but we have 3 kids. Two are mine from my previous marriage, and 1 is his. My (ex) mother in law had liver cancer, metasticized from colon cancer, and then it went to her lungs. It wasn't primary lung cancer. she had some new treatment directly into her liver, and she beat it for a long time. You'll find lots of support on here!
